Summer Village Green 2018

Summer has arrived, and with the sunshine and longer days comes the latest edition of the Village Green newsletter with a fresh new look. Greengate’s retirement and aged care villages are always a hive of activity leading up to the festive season, so this quarter we’ve decided to fill you in on what’s been happening at both St Patrick’s Green, Kogarah and St Brigid’s Green, Maroubra. For those of you who are thinking about retirement living, but still not sure if it’s the right move for you, we’ve also included some articles with helpful advice from our experts.

Opera on the Green
The countdown to Christmas began on a high note at St Brigid’s Green as residents and guests got dolled up in their best formal wear to attend Opera on the Green. The annual event held on our Village Green saw over 300 guests tantalised under the stars by the beautiful sounds of Venetian opera. Everyone was blown away by the incredible and talented voices of the singers from Opera Australia. Click here to continue reading.

How to Downsize and Cut the Clutter
Making the decision to leave the family home and downsize to a smaller, easier to manage retirement apartment can be a daunting decision. If you are someone who is living in a large house, and are feeling overwhelmed at the sheer thought of moving, rest assured this is a normal emotion and you are not alone. We spoke to Lorraine Cox, Director and Founder of Downsizing with Ease, who has successfully moved over 100 residents into Greengate Villages. Click here to read what she had to say.
